Country Heat - Meal Plan - Week One

Meal Plan – CHECK!  I can honestly say that one of the most imperative parts of my success each week in continuing my journey is my meal plan. Some weeks I don’t have as much time to sit and plan the whole week out but I plan what I can. Not having a plan leaves A LOT of room for me to snack on things I shouldn’t be and I tend to either over eat (usually the case) or be so busy that I don’t eat nearly enough.

But since we are wrapping up prep week in my accountability group I had lots of time to plan it all out. For the most part in a week span I eat a lot of the same foods because usually when you buy something it has quite a few servings with it. This week is extra special cause ITS MY BIRTHDAY! So on a couple days I cut a carb in order to make up for the ice cream cake I plan on eating. – I can taste it already – and any other treats that may come my way. Haha!

I’m usually a huge fan of hand writing my meal plan. Usually I scratch all over my paper and make my grocery list and will change things around. This week is my week one of using the computer and then printing. We’ll see how it goes!

I have found that keeping my meal prep simple works best for me. I usually stick to trying one new recipe a week and then just eating the things I like. If I make it too complicated, I get lost and it becomes a hassle. Which then turns into me not doing it and falling right back into old habits. I’m busy, I like grab and go, I don’t want to be in the kitchen cooking all evening and my meals show that. They are quick, tasty and filling. My best and easiest tip for adding a ton of flavor to anything and staying on the healthy side is pico and salsa. They are my FAVORITES.

I try to focus my new accountability groups on making our meal plans simple and easy until you get the hang of it, learn your eating habits and then mixing it up once you find your groove. If it feels too complicated then it likely is.

I’m ready to ROCK this first week of COUNTRY HEAT, plan in hand!
