Step by Step: No Fuss Jumbalaya

This recipe is really simple and very flavorful, if you are a pretty experienced cook and want to just breeze through the recipe CLICK HERE and you'll go straight to it. Below you will find a little more detail and pictures to go along.

No Fuss Jumbalaya

What you need:
1 Hillshire Farm Turkey Smoked Sausage, cut in chunks
1 lb medium, peeled & deveined Shrimp
1 can mild tomatoes & green chilies (do not drain)
1 onion, diced
1 red pepper, diced
1 TBSP minced Garlic
1 TBSP Chili Powder

What you do:

1. Drizzle olive oil in a pan, add onion, red pepper, garlic and chili powder. Sautee for about 10 minutes until onions begin to brown. I eave the pan uncovered for these first couple steps. The mixture will seem really thick but thats normal. Once you Sautee the peppers and add the tomatoes it will get liquidy.

2. Add in the sausage, mix and let cook for about 10 min. I use turkey sausage just because thats what we like but you could use kabalsa or anything along those lines for what you like.

3. Add in tomatoes & chilies with liquid. Cover and let simmer for 10 min.

4. Add in shrimp, cover and let simmer 10 min til shrimp are fully cooked.

Serve with rice. The key to good rice, because honestly plain white rice just isn't good. Instead of making the rice with water use chicken broth. Boiling it in the chicken broth add a ton of flavor without needing a bunch of butter or some type of sauce to dress it up. So just follow the directions on the box of rice but replace the water with chicken broth and I omit the butter but thats just to make it a little healthier.
