Tips to Stay Healthy in the Office

The office can be a place filled with temptations, from donuts, to luncheons, pizza, pot lucks, all of it. and CANDY DISHES, they are everywhere (cough, cough one used to sit on my desk). It’s hard to stay healthy around the office, believe me, I know but IT CAN BE DONE. A couple tips and things that work for me!

<3 Eat a filling breakfast, note the word FILLING. Coffee isn’t breakfast, I know I hear it ALL THE TIME, you aren’t a breakfast person. You need to be, it makes a difference.

<3 Pack your lunch on a full belly. If I pack my lunch box while I’m hungry I end up throwing in a few extras. I pack the night before, it makes it easy in the morning and I’m not just throwing things together in a rush. Even just pack a lunch, if you are rushing out to grab lunch you are more likely to grab something quick and unhealthy.
<3 Stock your desk with healthy snacks! This is big, have something handy when you get a craving BUT BUT BUT, I’ve seen it a lot, have a serving portioned out. Having a bag of almonds is fine, but eating the whole bag as a snack isn’t. Having pistachios is good, but a whole bag isn’t. Granola makes a good snack and so does popcorn.

<3 HYDRATE. Keep a water bottle on your desk, the key here is filling it up when you start your day. Don’t start your day with and empty bottle and then make it to lunch and realize you haven’t drank any water. Work happens, you get busy, it slips your mind. Do it from the start.

It’s little things you can do that will make the difference for you!
